One Hour - .1 CEU
“Are You an Interpreter for the Right Reason?”
“Are You an Interpreter for the Right Reason?” questions the participants personal
motivation as an interpreter. This course encourages one to self-evaluate their motives while emphasizes the importance of one’s alliance and efforts with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
In self-evaluating personal motives, participants will gain deeper insight of their role in advocacy as a communication access point in the deaf community with understanding and gaining tools to accept their own communication skills in ASL as an interpreter
These efforts will be supported by an increased understanding of the value of cultural competency and application of Deaf cultural norms as active participants in the Deaf community.
